These types of handles come with a built-in key cylinder on the exterior side, and a thumbturn on the interior side to operate the locking mechanism. These are commonly used on entry doors or any door in your home where you would like more security. These are frequently combined with a deadbolt (purchased separately) installed above it for an even higher level of security.

 

Dummy:

Dummy PairA dummy pair indicates a pair of handles that have no latching or locking functions. They are surface mounted to a door simply to give the door a handle to pull it open. Dummy pairs are usually used for the inactive door in a double-door set and other doors that need a handle on both sides, but no latching or locking function.
